We are born with a principle of life, a principle so POWERFUL, that it creates a human being out of two cells!!
It helps to heal and run the body with an innate/inborn mechanism.
It controls and coordinates every cell in the body,(without our conscious input).
It is essential for YOUR survival by helping you adapt to your environment.
Chiropractic Principle #20: A living thing has an inborn intelligence within its body called innate intelligence ( We are born with it!)

It’s MISSION – Chiropractic Principle #21 – The mission of innate intelligence is to maintain the material of the body of the living thing in active organization.
This innate intelligence uses the nerve system as its main tool to run, coordinate and heal the body!
An interference in the nerve system will decrease the body’s ability to heal and run itself.
A vertebra out of its proper alignment (vertebral subluxation) will affect its surrounding tissues- including the nerve system.
The adjustment helps to remove nerve interference /nerve irritation to restore proper nerve flow which allows the innate intelligence to express itself. . . .You become a better expression of what you are intended to be.
This is big stuff!!
It’s not just about pushing on backbones to alleviate a condition ,(which can happen because of this powerful principle), its about helping to improve the function of every organ, gland and cell!!
Laws of Life
Adaptation: a change or the process of change by which an organism or species becomes better suited to its environment.
Your body is adapting to every thing you do . . .every second of your life, and its your body’s ability to adapt that keeps you healthy and strong!
Adaptation is one of the many laws of life sometimes called Universal laws because they are immutable and unswerving. You cannot violate them without consequences. You must live within them.
Let’s take the law of gravity, for example. Regardless of whether you are a good person or a bad person, healthy or sick, young or old, were aware of the law of gravity or not, you cannot jump off a ten story building without causing damage to your body and most likely dying when you hit the ground.
However, you can use the law of gravity along with other laws/concepts in physics to create things like planes, rocket ships, and other means of transportation.
Another Law of Life is about the ‘Principle of Organization’ that resides inside you called Innate intelligence. We do not talk much about this in the office. This principle of organization results in the ability of a living organism to organize and reorganize its physiology in order to adapt and survive in an ever changing environment.
We know the body is organized and we can deduce that their is an inborn intelligence that is behind this. A subluxation (misaligned bones in your back) will decrease the expression of the forces generated by innate intelligence and consequences will follow.
Simply, your ability to ADAPT to everyday stress decreases.
My responsibility as your Chiropractor is to check your spine, find any subluxations you may have, and apply a series of specific adjustments (forces to restore normal alignment and function in the spine), which reestablish the normal neurological CONNECTION between the brain and body.
This increases the ability to purposefully organize your body and to better adapt to the stresses of your environment (internal and external). This allows you to gradually return to harmony, ease (health) — a process most call HEALING.
By helping restore and maintain function and alignment in your spinal column throughout your life, chiropractic helps you maintain your vital connection and maximize the expression of LIFE in your body.
Or said another way, your ability to ADAPT increases with consistent adjustments!!
What Can Chiropractic Do For You?

How about… a longer life. Bold statement, huh!
We can only explain it with logic.
We’ve been told – the better you take care of yourself overall – the better your body functions. When your body functions better you have the capability of living longer (and stronger).
Keeping your spine healthy, free of nerve interference helps your body stay strong and function better!!

We have all heard of this principle – if we save 50$ a month starting at age 21 by the time we are 55 we can accrue close to a million dollars.
The same principle applies to health. Take a long view. One of the keys to longevity, in my opinion, is to consistently re-commit to taking care of yourself!! And I use the term ‘re-commit’ because we ALL fall of the horse.
Here is a great quote from Brian Tracy which applies to health “The key to a long term success is for you to dedicate yourself to continuous improvement. If you become one tenth of one percent more productive each day, that amounts to 1/1000th improvement per day.. Is that possible? Of course it is! And over time that adds up to 26% more productive each year”
What does that mean to me? To you? Add more health raising activities to your schedule every week and month and the results will accumulate!
It works the same with the adjustment. The body functioning better after one adjustment may not amount to much for some people, but having a regularly adjusted spine and clear nerve system over the course of 5 years, 10 years, 20 years. . . . imagine the possibilities!
So consider the long view…don’t beat yourself up, recommit to a plan to get in better shape, eat better, get more rest and get consistent adjustments!
Adjustments = Strength
There is a greater dimension to health than just feeling good. Many people answer this question, “good health is feeling good”. This is nice, but it has very little to do with having good health.
What is Health?
There is so much more to being healthy than how you feel! The problem with health is that no one really has a good definition of what that term means. Most of the definitions out there are too vague or confusing.
One of the best definitions of health I’ve encountered is – normal function and ability to adapt to most of the stress you face in your day. It is the result of the harmonious function of all the organs of the body under the masterful direction of the brain.
Health is not just how you feel; it’s how you are functioning.
Where does health come from? Health comes from within. Health is the natural state of the adequate expression of the forces of innate intelligence in your body. Your body has the inborn ability to heal itself naturally. You were born to be healthy and function normally.
The catch is, in order for your body to be able to heal itself it must be free from interference in the nerve system. The nerve system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ, and system in your body. The number one cause of interference to the nerve system today is the vertebral subluxation.
Regular chiropractic care is a process of attaining health, happiness, and vitality, allowing you to live your life to its fullest potential. My wish to you is to live your life to its fullest and improve the quality of your life by creating health naturally.
When you put a suitcase on top of your car, you have altered (temporarily at least) the structure of your car, affecting its weight, its wind resistance,its gas mileage, its brake distance, its tire wear, etc.
A vertebral subluxation is a change in structure of the spine that affects the function of the nerve system. It causes altered spinal biomechanics, abnormal body function,it drains energy, and can cause many other problems.
The only thing left is to determine how long you are willing to tolerate this altered function for yourself, your friends, and love ones.
Think of it this way . .would you use a tennis racket to play golf? Of course not. Structure affects function. . . always. Alter the structure of the spine and you alter the functions of the body.
